Thousand Oaks, CA — The Occidental women's soccer team came away with a 1-1 tie against conference leaders Cal Lutheran on Wednesday night as neither team could find the go ahead goal after two overtime periods.

The Regals found the back of the net first in the 36th minute as forward Mandy Crawford finished a cross from midfielder Mackenzie Boulware. Oxy answered in the 69th minute of the match when midfielder Kyra Bethune scored on an amazing volley from outside the penalty box. Both defenses held strong for the remainder of the game and sent the match into overtime. The Tigers nearly won the game with five minutes remaining in the 2nd overtime half when forward Layla Devlin's header on goal was denied by Cal Lutheran goalkeeper Gabby Flores who had to dive to make the incredible save. Flores had two saves on the night while Oxy goalkeeper Ingrid Odmark made five saves.

Next Game: The Tigers will travel to play UC Santa Cruz on Saturday and will look to maintain their five game unbeaten run.
