Tigers Beat Whittier 3-0, Extend Winning Streak

Los Angeles, CA — The Occidental women's soccer team dominated in a 3-0 win over Whittier College Wednesday afternoon to get their third win in a row. 

Midfielder Olivia Haga opened the scoring just 3 minutes into the first half to give the Tigers a 1-0 lead. Midfielder Gigi Yamamoto doubled the score just 23 minutes into the game with a goal of her own. The Tigers got their third goal of the match when Chloe Hertzel assisted forward Julietta Seirmarco in the 49th minute. The Oxy offense controlled the game outshooting the Poets by a wide 14-4 margin. Whittier goalkeeper Vanessa Martinez came up big for her team making four saves while Oxy goalkeeper Ingrid Odmark also made four saves. 

Next Game: Oxy will visit conference leaders Cal Lutheran next Wednesday night at 7:00 p.m. as they hope to win their fourth game in a row.
