Los Angeles, CA — Occidental College played a heated game against Oneonta this Saturday. 

The first half started out rather civil with Oneonta making the first shots, however Oxy was able to get themselves on the scoreboard when Anthony Hollerich scored a 3-pointer. Oneonta's Sean Nolan seemed to be scoring a lot of the shots in the beginning, bringing the team to 11 points while Oxy worked to catch up again. At about seven minutes left in the first half, Oxy was finally up in the lead, 19-18, thanks to Jacob Lopez's jump shot. At three minutes left, Oxy lost the lead again and ended the first half one point behind.

Entering the second half both teams were feeling the heat. Immediately there was a steal by Oneonta's Michael Ortale who ran across the court to dunk the ball. This was then followed by Oxy's Sydney Shipp making a jump shot in an attempt to even out the score. With a very back and forth game, the tide finally turned towards Oxy at about 10 minutes left when Kyle Dosa made a three point shot, exciting the benched players and bringing team spirits up. Oxy continued to make perfect three point shots for the next three plays, bringing the score to 49-43. For the rest of the game Oxy continued to stay up, making Oneonta flustered and using as many time outs as they could to try and regather their team; this made the last few minutes a constant pause and play. At 2:30 left, Oneonta managed to tie things up with Oxy, however their time outs could not handle Aiden William's and Anthony Hollerich's tactical baskets. In the end, Dosa's and Shipp's free throws sealed the deal ending the game on 68-62 with Oxy taking home the win.
