Box Score Los Angeles, CA — The Occidental men's soccer team played host to Birmingham Southern College on Sunday and grabbed a well-earned 3-1 win.
The Tigers got an early lead with their first goal in minute six by Jazz Henry, with the assist going to Jack Meeker. Oxy continued to work past the Birmingham defense, but it wasn't until right before the end of the first half that Neython Streitz put a goal past the Panthers' goalkeeper, Jack Hunt.
The Panthers started the second half with renewed energy and got their first goal in minute 47. The Panthers' goal was scored by Coleman Jennings with the assists going to Patrick Kelly and Christian Hernandez. Oxy not willing to lose their cushioned lead, responded with another goal later in the half by Joey Schwartz, assisted by Jack Meeker.
Oxy's goalkeeper, Scott Drazan, had five key saves and maintained control of the field. The rest of the Tigers displayed how talented they are as individuals and a team with their exceptional footwork and quick passes.
