Los Angeles, CA —  The Occidental women's soccer team hosted Chapman University for the first SCIAC game of the season on Wednesday night.  The teams were well matched, with much of the game taking place in the midfield, but ultimately ending with Chapman ahead, 1-0.

The Tigers held their own against the physical Panthers' with yellow cards being issued to both teams.  Chapman's Mia Fowler received two yellow cards and was ejected from the game within the first fifteen minutes causing the Panthers to play a man down for the rest of the game.  The Tigers and the Panthers equaled each other with 11 shots on goal for the game, but in the second half, Chapman's Rory Biles sneaked one past Oxy goalkeeper Ingrid Odmark.

Next Game: The Tigers head to Pomona Pitzer on Saturday, September 18th and will begin play at 11:00 a.m.
