Los Angeles – The Occidental women's soccer team played their first home game in a while against the Cal Lutheran Regals. The Regals were aggressive, but nothing the Tigers couldn't handle. It was an exciting match-up with many opportunities for both teams. On one hand, the Tigers did not let a single goal into the net, but unfortunately, were not able to get a goal in on the Regals. The match remained scoreless at the 90 minute mark.

Sophomores, Ella Armstrong and Gigi Yamamoto, share the spotlight of having the most shots for the Tigers. Outside backs, Clare Madden and Kylie Jones, did extremely well against the high pressure Regal offense. Maggie Baird truly kept the game scoreless with her outstanding performance. Baird ended the match with 5 very crucial and difficult saves.

The Regals had an extremely high pressure offense and took advantage of every opportunity that they had. Overall, the team had 14 shots at the Tiger net and 6 corner kicks. Unfortunately, it was not enough to win the game. Regal goalie, Logan Duford, also had an outstanding performance with 5 saves.

The Tigers enter the second half of their season with a rematch against the University of Redlands. This time, the Tigers play at Redlands on Wednesday, October 19 at 7:00 p.m.
