Los Angeles – The Occidental women's soccer team earned their first SCIAC win of the season against the University of Redlands. After going scoreless for 70 minutes, Lucy Dysart nails one in the back of the Bulldogs' net. The Tiger defense were able to keep the Bulldogs at bay, ending the game 1-0, Tigers.
In addition to Dysart's game-winning goal, she also led the Tigers in shots at the net. Overall, Dysart had a phenomenal performance on the field. Kylie Jones and Olivia Haga followed Dysart with 2 shots on goal. Jones has been a crucial attacker and defender for the Tigers all season. Additionally, Haga has been another Tiger weapon in the attacking third. Maggie Baird did her job exceptionally well, resulting in 6 potential Bulldog goals.
Redlands had 18 shots at Baird with Charlie Baum being responsible for 5, leading her team in shots. The Bulldogs put up a tough fight, but it wasn't enough to shake the Tigers.
The Tigers are back at home for Senior Day at 4:00 p.m. to compete against the University of La Verne on Saturday, October 22.
