Los Angeles, CA — Men's soccer traveled to Orange, CA on Wednesday night for a big SCIAC matchup with the Chapman University Panthers.
With the top seed in the conference on the line, both teams came out of the gate ready to go in this one. Both defenses were on point and making it difficult for either team to get solid looks at the goal.
The first half was played very evenly, with both teams showing why they are two of the top teams in the SCIAC. Despite the tight defense, first year Tyler Na-Nakornpanom was able to get two shots on the goal in the 1sy half, but the Chapman goalie made saves on both shots. Adrian Paredes also got shots off in the 1st half, but the score would be 0-0 going into the half.
In the 58th minute of the game a Chapman player nearly broke the 0-0 tie with a header off the post after a free kick had the ball near the goal for the Panthers.
The Tigers would also have an attempt at a goal come very close in the 77th minute of the game. After a free kick opportunity, Aiden Aley had the ball in the box and was able to get a shot off but it rose just above the crossbar.
Ultimately the game would end in a 0-0 tie as neither team was able to find the back of the net with both defenses playing strong.
Next Game: The Tigers will look to secure a top 2 seed in the SCIAC on Saturday, October 29th as the Cal Lutheran Kingsmen will travel to Eagle Rock on the Tiger's Senior Day.
