LOS ANGELES, Calif. – Occidental Men's Soccer was tabbed as the favorite in the SCIAC Preseason Poll on Monday, August 24.
 
The Tigers, who have won two of the last three SCIAC tournament and regular season championships, look to tack on more in 2026.
 
Occidental is led by First Team All-SCIAC selection, Cooper Gersch on the defensive end. It's a strong unit that allowed just one goal in the SCIAC tournament.
 
Yordan Martinov, a junior transfer from Division II Westmont, should add a spark on the Tigers' attacking front. He scored three goals and assisted on as many in two seasons with the Warriors. He tallied an overtime goal in the PacWest semifinal as a freshman, helping the squad to the conference championship game.
 
Filing in behind the Tigers at second is Claremont-M-S. A down year for the Stags in 2025, but the squad is just a season removed from the NCAA tournament. Redlands, who Oxy faced in the conference title match, is slotted at third.
 
Men's soccer opens its season on September 1 against new conference foe Azusa Pacific. Start time is set for 7 p.m. at Patterson.
