Los Angeles, CA – Oxy's Tigers played their last game this season against the University of Los Angeles in a postseason competition.
In the first half, Hollerich could be seen back on top of his rebound game with 6 total rebounds during the game, 5 of which were defensive rebounds cleaning up the board. Additionally, Waldman seemed to be getting his juices flowing again as he came in hot with a saucy block at 16:20 left on the clock and again with a smooth steal just 30 seconds after. The defensive rebound that followed shortly after proved Waldman was back on his A-Game for the end of the season.
Nolet ended the season with strong gameplay; with 14 minutes on the clock his smooth layup kept Oxy up on the board 8-4. Additionally, especially in the second half, Nolet was able to stay open for his teammates and make multiple smoothly executed layups throughout the whole game scoring 13 points alone in the second half. Nolet's improvements this season have been extremely impressive for his first year at Oxy and he maintains a high level of skill that will definitely aid him in future seasons with the team. High prospects for the first year maintaining his starting position.
Lanser saw more play time in this game and was able to aid his teammates diligently, especially during the second half. With 15:55 on the clock, Lanser executed a stealthy steal into a layup soon followed by multiple three-point shots that closed the gap between the teams' scores.
Ending the game with some well-deserved game-time was Nishi who caught some game time midseason, but did not see the court for a hot minute. After being put in, Nishi immediety used his impressive hops to catch a defensive rebound and follow through with a layup. The junior's skills are superb each time he is put into the game and has high prospects for next season.
Great season to the Tigers after some time off due to Covid. The team has great potential for next year and Oxy is excited to see how they improve into the next year.
