Los Angeles, CA – Not only did the Tigers have to battle against the Sagehens, the extreme heat was also working against them. Regardless, the Tigers showed resilience and hard work on the field. The Tigers showed up in the third period to shut down the Sagehens by allowing no goals to be scored. Unfortunately, the Sagehen lead was too high to overcome leaving Oxy with a loss.
Goalie, Andie Angelacci, was put under immense pressure throughout the game, but was still able to shine with 10 saves. Dylan Herbert had an outstanding game, leading the Tigers with the most ground balls. Halle Knutson led her team by scoring all of her shots on goal and half of the Oxy goals.
Pomona-Pitzer, ranked 20 in the nation, was led by Sydney Landauer with six goals. Landauer's presence on the field was very helpful for the Sagehen win. The Tigers were able to learn a lot from the Sagehen's high level of competition that will benefit them as their season progresses.
Next Game: The Tigers travel to Orange, CA to challenge Chapman University on Wednesday, March 30 at 7:00 p.m.
