St. Paul, MN — After a big win on day one of the tournament, the Tigers were excited to bring the energy into day two. In their first game against Carthage College from Kenosha, Wisconsin, the Tigers were rewarded at the start of the first quarter with a penalty shot, taken by Jillian Miller (Irvine, CA). Jillian Miller then proceeded to score two more goals within the first few minutes of the game, setting the tone for the rest of the quarter. Abigail Lavold (Tacoma, WA) attacked the cage and scored towards the end of the first quarter. Koko Butcher (Honolulu, HI) and Anne Werum (Stuttgart, Germany) placed one shot each during the second quarter, holding on to the lead against Carthage. The Tigers played attentively and were focused on communicating defensively. In the third quarter, Koko Butcher, Abigail Lavold, Lily Collins Carson (Bend, OR), and Jillian Miller all found a perfect shot. To end on a strong note, Emily Kapins (Honolulu, HI) scored two goals, ultimately leading the Tigers to their second win of the tournament. The final score was 12-6.
