Seniors Allison Smith (La Crescenta, CA), Abigail Lavold (Tacoma, WA), Emily Kapins (Honolulu, HI), Nanki Sandhu (Greenbrae, CA), and Anne Werum (Stuggart, Germany) were honored for all of their hard work and dedication they've put into the team in the past four years. On behalf of the women's water polo team, they'd like to give a special thank you to every senior who has inspired them and made this year the best. 

Los Angeles, CA — On Wednesday night, the Occidental Tigers took on the Whittier Poets in an intense, exciting game. Jillian Miller (Irvine, CA) was the first to score early on in the first quarter with an assist from Koko Butcher (Honolulu, HI). Then, in the second quarter, Olivia Montgomery (Eugene, CA) fired a shot into the back of the net with the assist going to Marisa Lipari (Sunnyvale, CA). Marisa Lipari found the perfect buzzer-beater at the end of the third quarter and as the crowd started to amp up, senior Abigail Lavold shot and scored with the assist from Olivia Montgomery. Abigail Lavold led the Tigers defense with two drawn exclusions and a steal. Though the Tigers put up a good fight, the final score was in the Poets favor of 11-4. 

Teresa Marchetti and Ally Burke led the Poets with three goals each.
