Claremont, CA — The Occidental Tigers went up against the Pomona-Pitzer Sagehens for the first game in April. The Tigers battled hard even with seven of their players out. Goalie Allison Smith (La Crescenta, CA) had a whopping twelve saves, carrying the Tiger's defense. Koko Butcher (Honolulu, HI) was the first to score for the Tigers in the second quarter. Then, on a powerplay, Koko Butcher found the back of the cage again. The Tigers added a fun twist to their game when Goalie Alexandra Moye (San Diego, CA) was put in the field during the third quarter. With fifty-nine seconds left in the third quarter, Abigail Lavold (Tacoma, WA) found the perfect shot. Despite the tremendous efforts from the Tigers, the game ended in favor of the Sagehens 14-3.
