Los Angeles, CA — The Occidental men's soccer team was in action on Patterson Field on Saturday night in a matchup with Hope International University Royals.
The game was hard fought for the first 20 minutes of the game with both teams putting together passes on offense and playing strong defense. In the 21st minute of the game, Max Stanley was able to find the back of the net after finding a bit of space on offense, giving the Tigers a 1-0 lead.
Oxy would never look back in this one as they used the momentum of the goal to keep up their pace of play and prevent the Royals from getting anything going on the offensive end. HIU only totaled 3 shots on goal for the whole game.
In the 2nd half, the Tigers put together nice passes that led to Aiden Aley controlling the ball at the top of the box. Aley passed back to Jazz Henry who stepped forward and kicked a strike into the back of the goal to increase the Oxy lead to 2-0.
The Tigers would keep the score there for the rest of the game and finish off a 2-0 victory for their 3rd win of the season.
Goalie Owen Carter had 3 saves on the day.
