Los Angeles, CA — Occidental's men's soccer team traveled to Pomona-Pitzer on Saturday morning to take on the Sagehens in a SCIAC matchup. 

The Tigers brought the energy the entire game and were able to outshoot Pomona-Pitzer 12-9. Both teams were playing strong defense from the start, as the game remained tied at 0-0 going into the half. 

Multiple players for the Tigers were able to get good shots off that nearly broke the tie. Oxy was able to finally break through late in the second half. In the 80th minute of the game, Evan Karp launched a free kick perfectly to Jake Foster who beautifully placed a header into the back of the net. 

The Tigers never looked back after taking the lead and kept up the intensity on defense to secure a 1-0 victory over the Sagehens for Oxy's first conference win this season. 

Next Game: The Tigers will travel to Redlands on Wednesday September 21st to take on the Bulldogs at 7:00PM.
