Los Angeles, CA – The Occidental women's soccer team took on Pomona-Pitzer at Patterson field this weekend. Both teams fought very hard for 90 minutes to claim a victory, but no team came out on top. After many shots on goal from both teams, neither team could find the back of the net, ending the game with a draw.

While the Tigers did not come out on top, the team worked exceptionally well together to ensure that the Sagehens did not take a win from them. Maggie Baird indeed held the team down by standing her ground in the goal. With Pomona's high pressure to score, Baird kept her composure and ensured that no ball got past her. Baird ended the game with 6 saves.

The Sagehens truly tried their best to go back to Pomona with a win, but unfortunately, that was not the case. Pomona's leading shooter that kept Oxy's defense on their toes was Kendrick Dahlin, with 3 out of the 6 shots on goal.  Oxy's defense played exceptionally well Saturday night by never letting the Sagehen's offense get too far away and they worked the ball successfully to keep it away from the Tiger goal as much as possible.

Next Game: Come out to Patterson on Wednesday, September 21 at 7:00 p.m. to watch the Tigers host the University of Redlands in their third conference match of the season.
