Los Angeles, CA – The Occidental women's soccer team traveled just across the way to Pasadena to challenge the Caltech Beavers. It was a tough match for both teams. The game was scoreless until the 88th minute when a Beaver snuck past the Tigers to place the ball in the back of the net. Unfortunately, there was too little time for the Tigers to come back, ending the match 1-0 to the Beavers.

Although the Tigers did not walk away with a win, they surely left it all on the field. Gigi Yamamoto took as many opportunities as she could to lead the Tigers with 3 shots on goal. The Tiger defense consisting of Clare Madden, Haley Jacobson, Caroline Kearney, Grace Denny, and Maggie Baird, worked tirelessly to keep the Beavers at bay. Baird was a force in the goal with 3 crucial saves.

The Beavers were determined to obtain a victory and they did. Jennifer Solgaard had the last minute goal with an assist from Mia Gallo.

Oxy is back on the road to La Verne to compete with the Leopards on Saturday, October 1 at 7:00 p.m.
