Claremont, CA – Last Friday, the Occidental women's volleyball team traveled to Claremont, CA to face Pomoma-Pitzer. The hosting Sagehens claimed a three-set victory to continue their win streak with set scores 25-11, 25-8, and 25-22.
Oxy took an early lead in set one before Pomona-Pizter rebounded and pushed ahead. Set two saw much of the same, with the Tigers staying competitive in the first half of the set before the Sagehens went on an 11 point streak. In set three with the match on the line, Oxy was quick to strike and pulled ahead of the Sagehens. When their hosts realized that set three was going to be an entirely different game than the previous two, they were able to bring the game back to a tie. The match was close in the final few points, but ultimately it was a win for Pomona-Pitzer.
