Los Angeles, CA — The Occidental Men's Water Polo team played their SCIAC opponent, the Chapman Panthers on Wednesday. Tate Miller (San Anselmo, CA) started the offense off for the Tigers with help from Travis Hughes (Corte Madera, CA). Then, Max Stone (San Diego, CA) beat the goalie with help from Hughes. Aiden Cawley (Chicago, IL) scored next, leading the Tigers into halftime. After resting and regrouping, they came back stronger with Stone scoring, the assist awarded to goalie Jack Schroeder (Elmhurst, IL), and Zane Derrod (Chula Vista, CA) scoring, with the assist awarded to T. Miller. In the fourth quarter, the Tigers found their groove with T. Miller finding the back of the net with help from Stone. Then Hughes scored his second goal of the game with help from T. Miller. Shortly after, Oliver Wilkins (Seattle, WA) shot and scored with help from T. Miller again. Next came Stone twice, followed by a goal from Christian Guillaume (Ventura, CA) on a powerplay. As the Tigers crept closer to the Panthers, Lars Schubert closed that gap even more with help from Hughes on a powerplay. Yet their efforts fell just short, with the Panthers taking the lead by one to end the game. On defense, the Tigers drew thirteen exclusions, Guillaume drawing two of them. The Tigers also had nine steals, Hughes and Stone each stealing three. Final Score: 13-12 Chapman.
Nate Randolph led Chapman with five goals.
