Claremont, CA — The Occidental Men's Water polo team faced CMS on Saturday in a SCIAC matchup. Travis Hughes (Corte Madera, CA) was the first to score for the Tigers on a powerplay. After not scoring for a few minutes, Lars Schubert found the back of the net followed by Max Stone (San Diego, CA) with another goal on a powerplay assisted by Hughes. Then, Hughes scored again to end the first half. In the third quarter, Stone shot and scored and then Tate Miller (San Anselmo, CA) also scored with the assist credited to Hughes. Oliver Wilkins (Seattle, WA) scored next with help from Aiden Cawley (Chicago, IL), and then with eight seconds left in the quarter, Cawley scored his own goal on a powerplay with the pass from Hughes. In the fourth quarter, Stone beat the goalie yet again and then Christian Guillaume (Ventura, CA) added another goal for the Tigers on a powerplay. To finish off the offense, Hughes shot and scored in the last minute of the game. On defense, the Tigers drew eight exclusions, Guillaume drawing four of them, and five steals. Final Score: 15-11 CMS.
Cristian Pang, Hassen Hove, Gavin Rosser, and Nick Kennedy led CMS with two goals each.
