Orange, CA — The Occidental Men's Water Polo team faced SCAIC opponent, the Chapman Panthers, on Wednesday. Travis Hughes (Corte Madera, CA) was the first to score for the Tigers on a powerplay. After this, the Tigers and Panthers continued their back-and-forth battle until halfway through the second quarter, when Christian Guillaume (Ventura, CA) shot and scored on another powerplay followed by a goal from Danny Miller. In the third quarter, Aiden Cawley (Chicago, IL) beat the goalie on a shot, and then to tie up the game, Guilaume scored again. Next came Cawley with another goal to end off the third. In the last quarter, Guillaume deposited another shot into the goal. Then, Hughes and Oliver Wilkins (Seattle, WA) added two more points for the Tigers. Despite their strong efforts, the Panthers outscored them in the last quarter. On defense, the Tigers drew thirteen exclusions, Guillaume drawing six of them, and had nine steals. Final Score: 12-9 Chapman.
