Claremont, CA — The Occidental Men's Water Polo team played the Pomona-Pitzer Sagehens for their first game on Saturday. Jake Eulenhoefer scored first for the Tigers on a powerplay. Then, Travis Hughes (Corte Madera, CA) came next, with the assist awarded to Zane Derrod (Chula Vista, CA). In the second quarter, Christian Guillaume (Ventura, CA) shot and scored with the pass from Aiden Cawley (Chicago, IL). Then, Z. Derrod scoring a goal of his own on a powerplay with help from Cawley. The Tigers struggled to find the back of the net in the third quarter, until Cawley fired the perfect shot into the goal. With twenty-four seconds left in the quarter, Tate Miller (San Anselmo, CA) beat the goalie on a shot. In the fourth quarter, Oliver Wilkins (Seattle, WA) and Cawley both scored for the Tigers on powerplays to finish off the game. On defense, the Tigers drew twelve exclusions and had two steals.
