Claremont, CA — The Occidental Men's Water Polo team played Golden West College after their game against Pomona-Pitzer on Saturday. After Golden West started off on a scoring streak, Jake Eulenhoefer was the first to break that with a goal. Then, Raul Rodrigue shot and scored on a powerplay. In the second quarter, Zane Derrod (Chula Vista, CA) beat the goalie on a shot. After reseting at halftime, Travis Hughes (Corte Madera, CA) added another goal for the Tigers on a powerplay. Z. Derrod scored next, followed by a goal from Oliver Wilkins (Seattle, WA). With five seconds left in the third quarter, Lars Schubert fired a shot which went right past the goalie. In the fourth quarter, Chrisitan Guillaume (Ventura, CA) found the back of the net. Then, Wilkins shot and scored on another powerplay followed by a goal from Hughes. With fourteen seconds left, Guillaume scored for the Tigers again on a powerplay, but it still wasn't enough to reach Golden West. On defense, the Tigers drew thirteen exclusions and had three steals. Final Score: 16-11 Golden West.
