Box Score Los Angeles, CA – Last week, the Occidental men's soccer team showed their strength with the numerous Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference awards received. Senior defender Evan Karp was recognized for all of the exceptional work he had done for the Tigers defensive line and was named SCIAC Defensive Athlete of the Year!
Oxy's impressive season could not have been done without Karp's leadership and skill set. He started in 15 of 16 games, while also managing to pick up nine shots and one assist. The Tigers had six shutouts, now eight, when the conference awards were announced. Karp was named Second Team All-SCIAC in 2021 and First Team All-SCIAC in 2022.
The Oxy men's soccer team and coaching staff left for San Antonio, TX today for round one of the NCAA DIII Championship Tournament. On Saturday they will face the University of St. Thomas (TX). If they win, they will advance to the second round and either face Trinity or University of Texas, Dallas on Sunday.
