Los Angeles, CA — The Occidental Women's Water Polo team faced Fresno Pacific University for their first game of the 2023 season. The game was a battle back and forth, with FPU taking the lead early on in the game. The Tigers struggled to convert on offense, but kept up on defense. Koko Butcher (Honolulu, HI) and Kayla Lin (Palo Alto, CA) each had two steals. Not until the last quarter did the Tigers score, with Marisa Lipari (Sunnyvale, CA) scoring on a powerplay. Final Score: 17-1 FPU.

Tatum Benson led FPU with five goals.
