OXY FACES CAL LU FOR A SECOND TIME

Thousand Oaks, CA — The Occidental Women's Water Polo team played Cal Lutheran University on Saturday. Olivia Montgomery (Eugune, OR) was the first to score for the Tigers on a powerplay, with the assist awarded to Koko Butcher (Honolulu, HI). In the second quarter, Marisa Lipari (Sunnyvale, CA) scored on another powerplay with help from Montgomery. Abby Anderson (Thousand Oaks, CA) struck next with help from Kayla Lin (Palo Alto, CA). In the fourth quarter, the Tigers started to get amped up, starting with a goal from Jillian Miller (Irvine, CA) on a powerplay. Averylin Cummins (Chicago, IL) is credited with that assist. Then, Anderson scored two back-to-back goals, one on a powerplay with the assist from Cummins. Finally, Miller scored again with help from Cate Sloat (Austin, TX). Defensively, the Tigers drew ten exclusions, with Miller and Butcher drawing three each. Final Score: 12-7 Cal Lu.

Kemi Dijkstra led Cal Lu with five goals.
