Los Angeles, CA — Women's soccer hosted the Lewis and Clark Pioneers on a Saturday afternoon in Los Angeles. 

Both teams were playing strong defense to begin the game as neither team was able to get a shot off in the first portion of the match. Lewis and Clark got a shot off in the 19th minute but it sailed wide left and was no threat to goalie Ingrid Odmark. 

It would be soon after this that Occidental drew a foul just outside of the penalty box and earned a free kick. Clare Madden took the kick and struck the ball beautifully through the air and past the Pioneer goalie for the first goal of the game in the 20th minute. 

Oxy would continue to play good defense and limit Pioneer opportunities to score. When Lewis and Clark did put shots on goal, Odmark would come up with the save and had 2 of them in the 1st half. Madden would put one more shot on goal just before the half but it was saved by the Lewis and Clark goalie. 

Odmark and the Tiger defense continued their great game in the 2nd half, keeping pressure on the Lewis and Clark offense. Odmark would make 4 more saves in the second half and lead the Tigers to a shutout 1-0 victory.
