Oxy Goes into OT Against Pomona-Pitzer

Los Angeles, CA — The Occidental Men's Water Polo team went up against the Pomona-Pitzer Sagehens for their last game of the 2023 MPSF Invitational. Travis Hughes (Corte Madera, CA) was the first to score with help from Jake Eulenhoefer. Then, Eulenhoefer scored his first goal of the game with the assist awarded to Max Stone (San Diego, CA). The Tigers continued to fight through the first quarter, and with five seconds left, Eulenhoefer converted on a powerplay. In the second quarter, Christian Guillaume (Ventura, CA) beat the goalie with help from Zane Derrod (San Diego, CA) on a powerplay, followed by another goal from Eulenhoefer, with that assist awarded to Tate Miller (San Anselmo, CA). Shortly after, Guillaume scored his second goal of the game with help from T. Miller again. Then, Aiden Cawley (Chicago, IL) shot and scored. After regrouping at halftime, Guillaume added two more goals to the scoresheet for the Tigers, one on a powerplay, and one with three seconds left in the third quarter with help from Cawley. In the fourth quarter, Eulenhoefer converted on a penalty shot to tie up the game for the Tigers. Although the game went into overtime, the Tigers were unable to find the back of the net. On defense though, they drew fourteen exclusions and had ten steals, with Cawley taking four of them. Final Score: 13-10 Pomona-Pitzer
