Los Angeles, CA – The Occidental women's volleyball team hosted Claremont-Mudd-Scripps on Saturday in Rush Gym. After finding a rhythm against the fifth-ranked Athenas in the first set (25-9), the Tigers played up to their level of volleyball to stay in the mix over the next two sets (25-15, 25-14).
There were some long rallies that kept both teams on their feet as they struggled to win the point. The Oxy leaders were Ariana Caranza with five kills, Skye Garcia with three kills and two block assists, and Eliana Channel with two kills and two block assists. Elizabeth Sonza and Lizzy Kerman ran the back line alternating libero duties for a total of 11 and 10 digs, respectively.
