Los Angeles, CA – Last night, the Tigers hosted Pomona-Pitzer who is seated third in the conference. The Tigers might have lost in three sets, but they continue to show that they are able to rise to the occasion with a challenging opponent. The set scores were 25-17, 25-15, and 25-15.
The first set saw the Tigers fall behind by 10 points, but with the Sagehens just a few points away from taking the first set, the team rallied to reduce the deficit. In the second set, the Tigers forced the Sagehens to take a timeout when they were only separated by two points. In the third, the team fell behind early, but picked up a few points midway through the set to balance out the score. The set scores certainly don't reflect the missed points off of errors that could have shifted the momentum in the match.
Ariana Caranza led the team with a total of nine points off of seven kills and two aces. Camille Thé had 13 assists and Elizabeth Sonza had 13 digs.
