Los Angeles, CA — Women's soccer picked up a very impressive win over Bethesda University on Tuesday night.Â
The Tigers offense was on fire the entire game, putting up 24 total shots for the game and putting half of them on goal and challenging the opposing goalie. Oxy would get the scoring started a little over halfway through the first half when Ella Armstrong would take a pass from Maile Fukushima and deposit it in the net for a 1-0 lead.Â
Less than 4 minutes later the Flames would respond with their own goal and even up the score. The two teams would battle out the rest of the half to a 1-1 tie to close out the 1st half.Â
Only 47 seconds into the 2nd half the Tigers would take the lead back when Anna Fukushima would score a goal assisted by Julietta Seirmarco to give Oxy a 2-1 lead. The Tigers would play impressive defense and control the ball well to keep that 1 goal advantage for most of the rest of the game. That is until the Steadman and Maile Fukushima connected to give Oxy their third goal of the game and 3-1 lead.Â
Mia Steadman was still not done scoring in this game, as she found the net one more time in the 90th minute, this time coming off of an assist from Anna Fukushima.Â
It was truly a fantastic offensive performance from Steadman as she scored two wonderful goals and led the Tigers to an impressive 4-1 victory on Patterson Field. Oxy will look to keep on rolling when Lewis and Clark College comes to town on Saturday afternoon at 4pm.
