Los Angeles, CA — Women's soccer traveled to Orange Coast College to take on Westcliff University on Saturday, September 2nd.
It was the first regular season game for the Tigers. Oxy would total 11 shots in the game with 5 of them being on goal. All of the scoring in the game would come in the 2nd half of this contest.Â
Westcliff would get on the board first very early on in the 2nd half with a goal by Isabella Saavedra. Oxy would respond right back in the next ten minutes with a beautiful bicycle kick goal scored by First Year Mia Steadman, who was assisted with a perfectly placed pass by Kara Ovenell.Â
Steadman had also come close to scoring and hit the crossbar earlier in the 1st half of the game. Despite each team being able to get by each other's defenses at different points in the game to be able to take shots at the goal, neither team would be able to score again and the game to an end in a 1-1 tie.Â
Oxy will look to get their first win of the season against Bethesda University on Tuesday September 5th.Â
