LOS ANGELES, Calif. – Oxy Swim & Dive opened its season with a SCIAC meet against Caltech on Saturday, November 2 at De Mandel Aquatics Center. The women's team lost 161-129 and the men's team fell 206-82.

There was quite a bit of success on the women's side, as the Tigers took home victories in nine events. Sarah Radle collected three of those individual victories. She won the 100 free, 200 free, and 200 IM.

Kamille Pellettieri nabbed two victories of her own, winning the 100 fly and 100 breast. Rounding out the victories on the women's side were Nathalie Kerrigan in the 50 free, Amanda George in the 500 Free, Florence Lo in the 200 breast and Caroline Agostini in the 200 Back.

While the Tigers didn't earn any relay or diving victories, both the medley and free relay teams placed second. Riley Kawasaki was the lone women's diver to compete on Saturday.

On the men's side, Joshua Biggs' time of 21.46 in the 50 free gave him the first-place finish. Connor Grant, in his Oxy debut, picked up a victory in the 200 free, beating the field by two seconds. Those two notched the only victories for the Tigers.

Matthew Spruance was .4 seconds off the victory in the 100 breast at 59.55. Matthew Avery nabbed second in both the one and three meter dives.

The Tigers are back in action next weekend on the road at La Verne, taking on both Pomona-Pitzer and La Verne. Diving is set to start at 10 a.m., and swimming is slated for 11 a.m.
