Later on in the 1st half, Nickhy Clotfelter also went on a personal 6-0 scoring run to put Oxy up by a score of 23-10 with 11 minutes to go in the half. Jacob Hamermesh made a layup with 7 minutes left in the half that pushed the Tiger lead up to 20 points before Williams made another 3-pointer to get the lead to 23.

A layup from Clotfelter had the lead up to 25 ith 2 minutes left in the half, but the Poets responded with a 3-pointer just before halftime to cut the Tiger lead to 52-30 heading into the break.

Williams stayed red hot from the field to open the 2nd half, making a 3-pointer and a layup that had Oxy's lead up to 29 points. A Micah Breaux layup later on had the Tiger lead up to 35.
