Leesburg, FL— Tiger softball got their spring break Florida trip started in a matchup with Wilmington College.
Ellery Mitchell was on the mound for Oxy and gave up no hits in the 1st inning as Oxy had a nice play from catcher Evelyn Lorch who caught the runner stealing 2nd base for the 3rd out of the inning.
Wilmington scored in the 2nd inning on a single that brought home a run to make it 1-0. Ava Quezada led off the 2nd inning with a single for Oxy, but was stranded at 1st base.
Sydney Crespo led off for Oxy in the 3rd inning and singled up the middle. Wilmington scored one more in the 4th inning, but Mitchell was doing a good job of keeping Oxy in the game.
Wilmington would score 6 runs in the 6th inning and go on to win by a score of 8-0. Alsyha Wagner, Ellery Mitchell, Phylicia Pedrosa and Ava Quezada all had walks in the game and Isabella Harding had a hit in the 6th inning.
