Leesburg, FL— After a double header on Sunday, the Tigers were back in action for another doubleheader on Monday afternoon.
Game 1 of the doubleheader would be against the Edgewood College Eagles. The Eagles would score in the 1st inning on a single, a sac bunt and a steal and a sacrifice fly. Ariel Lashinksy worked her way out of the inning without any further runs allowed.
The Eagles added one more in the 2nd inning on a solo home run. In the bottom of the 2nd, Jordan Lebsock singled to the shortstop before being pinch ran for by Molly Houtkooper.
A few Oxy errors allowed Edgewood College to score two more runs in the 3rd inning, but Oxy broke through to score in the bottom half of the inning. Sydney Crespo led off with a single before Sophia Siu reached base on a fielder's choice that got Crespo out at 2nd.
Sam Palacio walked before Phylicia Pedrosa singled to load the bases and Alysha Wagner had an RBI fielder's choice to bring in the run from 3rd. Lashinksy had a shut down 1-2-3 top of the 4th and then Ava Quezada singled up the middle for Oxy in the bottom half of the inning.
Edgewood would go on to win by a score of 8-1. The Tigers totaled 6 hits in the game, including two each from Jordan Lebsock and Phylicia Pedrosa. Ellery Mitchell pitched 2.1 innings of scoreless relief while striking out one batter.
Oxy's second game of Monday's doubleheader would come against Nichols College.
