Los Angeles, CA — The Occidental Women's Water Polo team played the Pomona-Pitzer Sagehens on Saturday for their first home SCIAC game of the 2024 season. In the first quarter the Tigers held up the Sagehens on defense while working hard to create offensively. In the second quarter, Marisa Lipari (Sunnyvale, CA) shot and scored on a powerplay with the assist awarded to Koko Butcher (Honolulu, HI). After battling back and forth for another quarter, the Tigers had a great powerplay, with Butcher hitting Ruby Vogel (San Mateo, CA) on the post. On defense, the Tigers drew thirteen exclusions, with Butcher and Rebekah Harkins (Miami, FL) drawing three each. The Tigers also had eight steals with Bella Wilde (Eugene, OR) stealing four. Final Score: 13-2 Pomona-Pitzer
