Macalester, MN — The Occidental Women's Water Polo team faced the Macalester College Scots in their second game on Saturday. Marisa Lipari (Sunnyvale, CA) scored a buzzer-beater in the first quarter to kickstart the Tigers. Then in the second quarter, Jillian Miller found the back of the net. The Tigers started to find their groove in the second half of the game, with Cate Sloat (Austin, TX) scoring her first goal of the season, followed by two goals from freshman Bella Wilde (Eugene, OR). All three of those goals came on a powerplay for the Tigers. After regrouping, the Tigers headed into the fourth quarter ambitious, as they were only two goals away from tying up the game. After putting in a lot of work, Sloat scored again for the Tigers, yet they were unable to convert a second goal. Final Score: 7-6 Macalester.
