Oxy Ends CLU Series with a Close 1-0 Game

Los Angeles, CA – The Occidental Tigers recently engaged in a spirited three-game series against California Lutheran University.  Despite facing formidable opposition, the Tigers demonstrated their resilience and competitive spirit throughout the series.

Undeterred by the previous day's setback, the Tigers returned to their home field with renewed determination in the second game of the series.  In a captivating contest marked by skillful plays and strategic maneuvers, Oxy took an early lead courtesy of Evelyn Lorch's timely hit, driving in Alysha Wagner.  However, the Regals responded with a resilient display, ultimately securing a hard-fought 4-1 victory.  Standout performances for the Tigers included Wagner's two hits, as well as strong showing from Sophia Sui, Isabella Harding, and Ariel Lashinsky, who recorded a strikeout in her inning of pitching.

With CLU up 2-0 in the series, both teams entered the decisive third game with determination and focus; California Lutheran looking to sweep and Oxy looking to pick up a win.  Despite the valiant efforts by the Tigers, they were unable to overcome the Regals, who secured a narrow 1-0 win.  Noteworthy contributions for Oxy included hits from Wagner, Philycia Pedrosa, and Jordan Lebsock, while Lashinsky delivered an impressive pitching performance, tallying three strikeouts in a complete game effort.
