Thousand Oaks, CA— The Tigers traveled to Thousand Oaks on Friday to play a SCIAC doubleheader against the Kingsmen.
Cal Lutheran would take an early 1-0 lead in the 2nd inning and add to it in the 3rd by scoring 3 more runs. The game was in the Kingsmens' control when the Tigers stepped up to bat in the 9th inning and put up 8 runs to nearly complete a comeback.
It was started by an RBI walk from Ryder Banks that was followed by an Alex Henderson single to right field that scored Sean Elsee. A wild pitch scored the Tigers' next run to make it 9-3 and then Sancho Llamas continued to swing a hot bat and launched a 3-run home run over the left field wall to suddenly make the score 9-6 Kingsmen.
The Tigers were not done there, as Ben Rutkin would double to left field to score Jackson Short and Mason Olson to cut the lead down to just 1 run at 9-8. A walk put runners on first and second for the Tigers, but the Kinsgmen were able to record the last out of the game and barely hold on for the win by a score of 9-8.
