KANSASVILLE, Wis. – Occidental women's golf sits in first place after day one of the Midwest Region Classic in Kansasville, Wis. The tournament features a 33-team field.
 
The Tigers' impressive performance was led by Kimi Arabe, shooting a 2-over 74 with five birdies in the opener. Four of the five Tiger golfers shot 80 or lower and sit in the top-third – 58^th place or higher – out of 189 golfers.
 
The final scores include a 76 from Madeline Greene, 77 from Katie Leinwand, 80 from Anna Choi, and 83 from Mia Dang.
 
As a team, Oxy shot 19-over, one stroke ahead of second place Cal Lutheran. Following the SCIAC duo, there's an eight-stroke difference between second and third, with Aurora at 28-over par, heading into day two.
