BREA, Calif. – Cross Country competed at the Mark Covert Classic to open the 2024 season. The women's team finished ninth out of 13 teams and the men's team placed 13
th in a field of 14.

Jenna LeNay paced the Tigers' women's squad, finishing in 18
th place out of 174 runners. She finished with the fourth fastest time – 18:19.2 – out of all Division III runners. This marks LeNay's return to the competition field after her appearance at the NCAA Championships in November 2023.

Three other Tigers placed in the top 125.
Jade Weggeman ran a 20:16.21, while
Megan Cover and
Jillian Rosset shortly followed Weggeman with a 20:17.9 and 20:20.9 respectively.

The women's team ran a 5k as opposed to the 6k they compete in on the national stage.

On the men's side,
Joshua Lo led the Tigers with a 27:00.1 finish in the 8k, good enough for 101
st out of 176 runners. First-Years
Owen Voigt and Aidan Thatcher completed their collegiate debuts as the second and third finishers for the Tigers.

Voigt finished the race at a 27:10.6 mark and Thatcher followed 14 seconds and six runners behind. Â
