Elfenbaum places third as cross country races around the country

ROCK ISLAND, Ill. – Jack Elfenbaum led Cross Country on the week, placing third out of over 400 runners at the Augustana Interregional Invitational on Saturday, October 18.
 
Elfenbaum helped the men's team to a 16th place finish – with a 32-team field – and trailed the winner by just four seconds. He had the best race finish of any SCIAC runner on the week with a time of 25:44.8.
 
Jenna LeNay paced all Tiger women's runners, finishing in 31st, while the women placed 21st out of 40 teams. LeNay ran a 22:35.2.

Back home, the other half of the team competed at UC Riverside's Highlander Invitational. Both teams finished in 7th with the men's field having 13 and the women's holding 14 squads.
 
Missy LeClaire had the best finish of all Tigers at the Highlander Invite, placing 21st. She finished with a time of 23:53.6  in the 6k. On the men's side, Noe Barraza's 26:22.6 was good enough for 29th in the 8k.
 
Both sides displayed great team running, with four men finishing within 15 places of each other and four women finishing within six spots.

The Tigers are back in action on November 1 at the SCIAC Championship which kicks off a month of important meets. The NCAA West Regional follows two weekends after, while the NCAA Championship is the next weekend, dates are November 15 and November 22 respectively.
