LOS ANGELES, Calif. – Five men's soccer student-athletes earned All-SCIAC honors and Devin Bening was named SCIAC Offensive Athlete of the Year – the first sophomore to receive those honors since 2006.

Bening, who was also a First Team All-SCIAC selection, led the conference in goals with 11 overall and eight through 12 conference games. Bening posted three games with two goals and totaled 23 points on the season, leading the team.

Vicente Navarro repeated as a first team selection. The senior midfielder and team captain scored one goal and assisted on two. He'll end his Occidental career as a three-time All-SCIAC selection and with his third-straight honor – he was named to the second team as a sophomore.

Cooper Gersch rounds out the first teamers with his first-career selection. The Tigers' top defender helped them to three shutouts and the conference's best goal margin. The junior who transferred from Division III Whitman a season ago made an immediate impact for the Tigers and became one of the conference's top back-line assets in his second campaign.

Aiden Aley received his second-career All-SCIAC selection, being named to the second team in back-to-back seasons. Aley had his best season as a senior, scoring five goals and assisting on five. He was third on the team in points and goals.

Ayden Rieke-Wey earned his first All-SCIAC nod as a sophomore, being named to the second team. The Tigers' second leading goal scorer tripled his goal total from his rookie campaign, scoring six times, posting 14 points.

The Tigers season continues as the team holds the No. 1 seed in the SCIAC tournament. They'll host No. 5 La Verne in the SCIAC semifinal at Patterson Field tonight, November 6 at 7 p.m.
