LOS ANGELES, Calif. –
Maeve Moylan's four-goal, three-assist night led women's lacrosse to a convincing 19-7 win over Cal Lutheran on Friday, March 21.
Â
Moylan was one of three Tigers to tally three or more goals on the evening.
Emma Cho and
Tirzah Rivera each notched hat tricks. Rivera scored the first three goals of her career – her first coming off a Moylan assist to extend the Tiger lead to 6-1 in the first quarter.
Â
It was all Oxy from start to finish. The Tigers' first goal came just 10 seconds into the game when Moylan took the draw control, weaving around defenders to convert the game's first score. Oxy jumped out to a 4-0 lead within the first five minutes and led by as many as 13 in the contest.
Â
Defensively,
Sydney Acol went on a tear, picking up four caused turnovers and four ground balls.
Andie Angelacci picked up five saves and is just two shy of 400 on her career. The senior already sits atop the women's lacrosse record books, now 62 ahead of Neah Bois in second.
Â
With the win, the Tigers improved to 6-3 on the season and 3-3 in SCIAC play. They're back in action on Monday, hosting George Fox at 7 p.m.
