LOS ANGELES, Calif. – Women's lacrosse extended its win streak to four on Monday, March 24 with a 19-15 win over George Fox at Patterson Field.
Â
Down but never out, the Tigers trailed by as many as five midway through the second quarter but went on a 14-5 run to close out an impressive victory.
Â
It started at the end of the second quarter when
Olivia Okamoto tallied two of her game-high seven goals, bringing the deficit to just two.
Â
The Tigers continued to battle in the third, exchanging goals and eventually working the game to a tie to close the frame.
Emma Cho's free position goal drew the score at 12 with just eight seconds to go.
Â
Oxy erupted in the fourth, scoring seven goals in the frame including six in a 6:33 span, amounting to a five-score lead.
Maeve Moylan tallied three of her five goals in that stretch, and
Ava Whelan added two scores, her second off a nifty Cho pass.
Â
Offensively, Okamoto, Moylan and Whelan combined for 15 goals.
Gabriella Acker posted three assists and Cho added a pair.
