LOS ANGELES, Calif. – Women's water polo fought back to tie it late, but ultimately fell to Cal Lutheran 12-11 on Saturday, March 29.
 
Down 6-1 with only a minute to play in the first half, the Tigers looked outmatched against the Regals, but a resilient Oxy squad scored 10 goals over the next 16 minutes of play, tying the game at 11 with 45 seconds to go.
 
After a Cal Lutheran goal, the Tigers pulled the keeper 
Alexandra Moye and placed 
Estella Gray in the goalie cap for a 7-on-6 advantage to force overtime. The Tigers' equalizing efforts came up short with an off target shot, ending the game.
 
A strong effort from 
Koko Butcher brought the Tigers back into the game. They tallied five goals on 10 shots. Butcher now sits at 10
th in the SCIAC in goals with 38 on the season.
 
Mia Colabianchi and 
Tori Carlson each scored two, while 
Ruby Vogel and 
Hannah Lee added a goal apiece. 
Cate Sloat distributed the ball for the scorers, picking up three assists.
 
Despite Cal Lutheran's early scoring, Moye was solid in the second half, finishing the game with seven saves and three steals. She added an assist.
 
With the loss, the Tigers fell to 7-11 on the season and 3-4 in SCIAC play.
