LOS ANGELES, Calif. – Occidental Golf competed at the SCIAC Championships from Sunday, April 27 through Tuesday, April 29. The women placed fifth and the men finished in seventh.
After the tournament,
Madeline Greene and
Adam Elshamy received the SCIAC's Women's Golf Sportsmanship Award and The Jesse Clark Memorial Award. The awards are given to two SCIAC senior golfers annually who best demonstrate a high quality of skill and sportsmanship on the course.
Rachel Aujero and
Katie Leinwand were recognized as All-SCIAC selections. The duo finished seventh and eighth in the tournament respectively, shooting 5-over and 6-over through three rounds.
With the help of Aujero and Leinwand, the women's team ended its season in historic fashion, breaking the school record for strokes in a round – 294. The team shot a program-best 296 in Sunday's first round and closed on an even higher note.
On the men's side,
Miles Eastman and
Amaan Kanji had the Tigers' best finishes. They each tied for 28
th shooting 6-over par. Eastman shot a team-best 70 – two under – on Tuesday to lead Oxy.
Golf will return for the 2025-26 season in September to start the fall season.
