LOS ANGELES, Calif. – Baseball wrapped up a 4-game weekend with a non-conference match up with the Lewis & Clark Pioneers on Sunday morning.
The Pioneers jumped out to an early 3-0 lead, as Oxy's starter Alex Dexter struggled to find the zone early on, allowing the first two batters to reach before surrendering a 3-run home run.
Lewis & Clark added on a run in the 3rd inning with a sacrifice fly that brought in one run.
Oxy responded by getting one run back in the bottom half, as Thomas Munch continued to produce runs for the Tigers by just nearly missing his 4th homer of the weekend with an RBI double off of the left center field wall.
Lewis & Clark would go up 10-1 by hitting home runs in the 5th and 6th innings, but Oxy tallied a run on a solo shot from senior Miles Capobiancin the 6th inning, his first of the season and third of his career.
Nick Gonzalez would also drive in Nathan Goodman with an RBI single before the inning closed, but the Pioneers would go on to win the game in 7 innings by a score of 13-3.
Logan Rooney was 2 for 2 with two walks in the game and Miles Capobianco scored two runs and drove in one on his home run in the 6th.
Munch finished the weekend going 8-17 at the plate for a .471 batting average while driving in 6 runs.
